" Ted Williams and Babe Ruth"

   This photograph documents the first time that Babe Ruth and Ted Williams had met each other. It was taken on July 12th, 1943 at Fenway Park in Boston. They were present at a Charity Game held by Boston's Mayor Tobin as a benefit for underpriveledged children. This was an Exhibition Game that took place one night prior to the MLB All Star Game. Most of the players in this game had just returned from the Military. While this photo was not taken by Dick Collins, he did get Ted Williams to sign it a number of years later, as the two had become close over the years. This is a Copy of that signed photograph.
